Top-mounted weighers (mounted above VFFS)

Features
- Stage frames are built above the VFFS for installing a weigher.
- Each content at a certain weight is dropped into the VFFS from a weigher.
- There is no conveyor or other machinery between a weigher and the VFFS, so the layout is very simple and does not take up large floor space.
- Enough height is needed to choose this layout.
Multihead weighers
- Multiple hoppers are usually circularly laid.
- A small amount of content is allotted in each hopper.
- The weigher makes a combination of some hoppers to get as close to a target weight as possible.
- This weighing system is effective and worthwhile, especially for packing large-weight contents.
(Exact weight or a slight overweight is ideal.)
- The standard shape of multi-head weighers:Round.
(Square-shaped and inline-shaped multi-head weighers are other options but not common.)
Supply conveyor

Features
- A conveyor intermediates between a VFFS and a weigher.
- A weigher carries weighed and allotted content to a VFFS.
- Compared with top-mounted weighers,conveyors relatively do not take much space vertically.

- Cleated belt conveyors
- Manually placing in a bucket or on a belt
Attention
- Take a horizontally vast space.
- Take time to wash all buckets.
- Option: water flow washer and air blower.
These devices can wash buckets effortlessly
(but it is not a thorough cleaning.)
Top-mounted volumetric feeders - mounted directly on VFFS
- Top-mounted volumetric feeders are directly installed on VFFS(Connecting frames are used to mount firmly.)
- The size of volumetric feeders is relatively compact.
- Examples of volumetric feeders are vibration feeders, inline- multi-head weighers, etc.
- Very compact as stage frames are not needed
Vibratory feeders

- Vibratory feeders:
- Vibrate trough plates to carry components (Plural plates, three or four plates, will increase precision)
- Let the components drop little by little at the edge of the plate
- Stop vibrating once it reaches the target weight
- Uses for granular components, tiny amount (Big amount would cause excessive fillings)
- Simple structure, easy to use
Augers

Features
- Auger fillers are auger powder-filling machines
- The filler’s screw revolves and pushes components into the forming
pipe of the VFFS (This mechanism prevents powders from soaring)
Volumetric feeders

Features
- Confirm volume, not weight
- Several cups are arranged circularly on a round revolving board, and the bottom of each cup opens one by one to let the content go
- Use for granular/powder components
- Not suitable for big and complicated packages
- Reasonable compared with weighers
- Not appropriate for packaging precise-weight products
